Vermont Considers Contribution Limits PDF Print E-mail

The Vermont Senate is considering some basic limits on campaign contributions.  This action comes in the wake of the US SUpreme Court striking down Vermont's previous law that set mandatory limits on campaign spending.  

Brenda Wright, a lawyer at the National Voting Rights Institute, who helped draft the new proposal says:

"A contribution limit is a very basic measure that gives the public some confidence that candidates will not be unduly beholden to any one donor,"
